De Loys' Ape

The Ameranthropoides loysi, also called De Loys' Ape, is a supposed large ape encounted by Francis De Loys in South America in 1920. The only evidence to support the claim is a few eye witnesses and one photograph. Many people support that the ape is a hoax and that the picture shows only a posed spider monkey.
