The Minnesota Iceman was a purported man-like creature shown at carnivals and fairs throughout Minnesota and the mid-western United States. The creature was frozen in a block of ice and often referred to as a missing link. It has been suggested that it could be a neanderthal, Bigfoot, or a Yeti, while others call it a hoax. Two scientists and followers of cryptozoology, Ivan Sanderson and Dr. Bernard Heuvelmans, heard about the creature and examined it. They concluded that it was genuine, stating that "putrefaction where some of the flesh had been exposed from the melted ice."
